Takshanuk Mountain Trail is located seven miles from downtown Haines, Alaska. Getting here is easy no matter how you arrive to the Upper Lynn Canal region.
- For Skagway Cruise Ship Passengers - If you arrive in Skagway via cruise ship, your tour with Takshanuk Trail will be packaged with a scenic boat ride to Haines. See this portion of the Lynn Canal up-close as you enjoy the 40 minute ride on the Haines/Skagway Fast Ferry. Arrive at the cruise ship dock in Haines where you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff who will escort you on the Takshanuk Mountain Trail bus to the trailhead.
- For Haines Cruise Ship Passengers - Your cruise ship will arrive at the large cruise ship dock in Haines located directly in front of historical Fort William H. Seward. Walk to the shoreside end of the pier where our friendly staff will greet you and direct you the Takshanuk Trail bus which will transfer you to the trailhead.
- Traveling Independently - If you have arrived in Haines on your own, drive north out of Haines on Lutak Road. The Trailhead is located at 7 mile Lutak Road just three miles on the Left past the Alaska State Ferry Terminal. Please call for tour times and availability.
